The S710a is the result of working in close cooperation with Sony Corporation’s camera experts. Its 1.3 megapixel CCD camera delivers enhanced picture quality (1280 x 960 image size). When opening the camera lens shutter, the "camera-mode" is automatically activated and the screen changes to ‘view-finder’ function with a familiar horizontal digital still camera graphic interface. As a Quickshare product, the S710a is extremely easy to use; just one click to take a picture and a couple more to send the image on. To further enhance the imaging experience, the S710A comes with photo light to enable photography in dark environments, 8x digital zoom and a 2.3 inch 262K TFT colour screen capable of displaying detailed images with amazing clarity. It is also possible to stream and capture video clips.

Compatibility with MemoryStick Duo, Bluetooth and infrared means the S710A offers a wide range of connectivity options so images or video clips can be stored or transferred for editing and easy enjoyment on a PC or other consumer devices.
The Sony Ericsson S710A includes the impressive new EDGE (Enhanced Data rates for Global Evolution) - this enhancement to standard GPRS allows data transfer rates of up to 240kbps to be realised, where EDGE is supported. Where EDGE is not supported, the S710A automatically changes down into standard GPRS mode.

The camera quality is decent, NOT great, however I still havent a seen a cellphone that makes perfect pictures. It can also record video but the image gets distorted rather quickly by fast movements.
The menu also lags whenever you press a button, but I feel is a small price to pay given the high graphics. The battery doesnt really last that much either. On average, between playing with the camera, talking, and playing games on it I get about 2 hours worth of talk time spread out in 2 days.
